Melania Trump rounds off Africa tour in Egypt

Melania Trump rounds off Africa tour in Egypt

US first lady Melania Trump visits the Pyramids in Cairo, Egypt, October 6, 2018.

'I don't always agree what he tweets, ' she said in a rare, unscripted interaction with reporters.

One Twitter user hypothesized the First Lady's outfit was a specific combination.

The sartorial choice attracting the most current scrutiny - and the choice Trump was specifically asked about in front of the Sphinx on Saturday - was a pith helmet, which she wore while she toured Nairobi National Park in Kenya on Friday.

After the Ghana visit, she made a brief stop in Malawi where she toured a primary school.

And with Washington imploding over a battle to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, the president's nominee for the Supreme Court, Melania Trump seemed free of the usual scrutiny that nips at her stilettos in Washington.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is the patron of the transformative Beyond Zero initiative while US First Lady Melania Trump is the founder and promoter of the "Be Best" initiative created to improve the welfare of children.

Kenya Airports Authority did not give a reason for the closure but it is likely to do with the arrival of US First Lady Melania Trump.

The First Lady held a one-hour meeting with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his wife at the palace, the longest of her tour, and was then driven to the USA embassy before heading to the Pyramids of Giza.

Her focus on saving elephants seemed at odds with policies put forth by her husband, President Donald Trump.

"Melania Trump wearing pith helmet on her trip to "Africa" is more than a silly satirical choice".

The first lady was similarly immersed in the moment earlier at Nairobi National Park, where she had gone early Friday to highlight elephant conservation.

The president tweeted about his wife's visit this week saying she was doing a great job.

But it was her attire which drew concern on Twitter, as she donned a white pith hat, with her riding pants and boots. "I want to talk about my trip and not what I wear".

She appears to be relishing her time in Africa.
