Aaron Ramsey says he will see out season with Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium and looks set to be a free agent at the end of this season.

But those talks were shelved and the Wales global is now set to become a free agent next summer, although Arsenal could attempt to cash in on the 27-year-old midfielder in the January transfer window.

Arsenal could receive a fee for Ramsey by selling him in January but the Wales worldwide, who played in the 4-1 home defeat against Spain on Thursday, did not sound as though he was planning for a mid-season move.

Although the Arsenal man prefers to stay in England, a near guarantee of medals and playing alongside top players such as Cristiano Ronaldo could propel him to join the Old Lady.

"What I do like about him and what I will always give him credit for, is that he never hides, never ever hides", Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live (via The Express).

"Am I disappointed? That's a decision they have made and things happen in football and you just have to get on with it".

As of January he will be available on a pre-contract basis but clubs could of course attempt to sign him on a cut-price deal from the Gunners with any fee unlikely to be any higher than €25 million.

He added: "Everything has been going great with the club - we thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that's no longer the case".

The Wales star opted to move to Arsenal despite interest from Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

He has started six of eight Premier League games under Unai Emery, contributing one goal and three assists.

The Gunners will take on Leicester City in their next top flight fixture at the Emirates Stadium after the global break.

The Reds' Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea have got their eye on Ramsey too.
