The phone is available for pre-order from 9 August, and the 128GB variant will be available for £899 while the upper-range 512GB device will sell for £1,099. Those who switch to Xfinity Mobile and buy a new Note 9 can get $300 in a prepaid debit card. The headline upgrades are better cameras, more storage, bigger screen and battery and an S-Pen that now has Bluetooth.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users won't just get exclusive access to Fortnite Mobile.

How this works, says Samsung, is that "The Galaxy Note 9 intelligently recognises what you're looking at, optimizing color settings like contrast, white balance, exposure and more". With one click of a button on the side of the stylus, you can, for example, snap selfies without having to contort your fingers to reach the control on the phone's screen.

Pre-orders for the smartphone will kick off tomorrow on 10 August, with the 6GB/128GB model costing £899, and the 8GB /512GB storage model priced at £1,099. The company has partnered with Spotify to make users' playlists, music, and podcasts available across Note 9, Galaxy Watch, and Smart TV devices.

A dual 12-megapixel camera system matching that on Samsung's Galaxy S9+, including its variable aperture lens and a 2x optical zoom camera, is mounted in the back of the Note 9.
