Parents are paying Fortnite coaches to help their children win

Epic games introduced the game past year and Fortnite: Battle Royal seems turned out to be the best mode of the game.

Some of the prices for coaches are $15 to $20 per hour or they can pay up to $50 for three to four hours of lessons. The reason is a new insane trend where parents are hiring Fortnite coaches for up to $20 per hour to train their kids so that they can beat other players in the free-to-play battle royal game.

And now, some players are profiting off of parents. And then you have these parents who spend all sorts of hard-earned money on tutors so their kids can get better at Fortnite and hang with the adults who spend each waking moments hooked to their video games.

A Wall Street Journal report looked into the practice of parents paying Fortnite coaches to help their children get better at the battle royale game. Logan Werner, an 18-year-old "Fortnite" coach in Roy, Utah, said his dad would never have allowed video game coaching, according to Axios. On the other hand, there are some parents who take classes so that they can successfully play alongside their children.

While the private tuition trend highlights the growing popularity of Fortnite, there are some who fear children are becoming addicted to it and other games.

"There's pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it. You can imagine what that was like for him at school", Ally Hicks, a project manager with a ten-year-old son, told WSJ.

The trend has also caught attention in the United States, with Nick Mennen paying $20 hourly for his son to receive lessons. Fortnite coaching services have started popping up in contracting websites and in social media, with an estimated 1,400 Fortnite tutors hired since early March.

If you are unfamiliar with Fortnite, it is a free-to-play video game. "It's not like they're going to turn 35 and be like, 'Well, I'm a baseball fan now'".
