Gonzalo HIGUAIN of Argentina joins AC Milan from Juventus

The report claims the 30-year-old is not impressed with the agreement of a loan move with an option to purchase, as despite Milan's sporting director Leonardo move to reassure the striker that a permanent deal will be triggered, Higuain remains anxious it will fall through.

The Argentine arrived in the Italian city on Wednesday night and should complete his medical and officially sign for the club at some point later today.

AC Milan's Instagram account posted a video of Higuain in their club colours with the caption "Higuain, ready to start".

Milan will pay £16million for the loan deal and will have the option to make the deal permanent in a year's time for £32million.

But according to CalcioMercato, the Blues' hopes of signing the highly-rated centre-back have now been extinguished. Higuain has played under the Chelsea manager at Napoli in 2015-16, where he scored record 36 goals in Serie A.

The 31-year-old rejoins the Bianconeri in a triple transfer that sees striker Gonzalo Higuain and defender Mattia Caldara head in the opposite direction.

Caldara is showing a huge amount of potential for a young player and would be a solid replacement should Bonucci leave.

The 24-year-old had two non-official appearances with the Old Lady who have chose to swap him for Leonardo Bonucci.

The latter only joined Milan last summer but now returns to the Old Lady as he goes in search of the Champions League trophy.

And the Rossoneri's announcement was swiftly followed by confirmation from Juventus that prodigal son Bonucci had come back just one year after leaving the club for San Siro.
