Donald Trump To NFL Players

Donald Trump To NFL Players

Trump on Friday took to Twitter to renew his attacks on NFL players who protest racial injustice and police brutality during the national anthem at games.

Trump claimed that "most of them are unable to define" what it is that they are protesting against, but that is incorrect.

She said that National Football League owners clearly want the issue to go away because it's affecting their bottom line, but their collective bargaining agreement with the players association prevents them from taking unilateral action. Trump suggested the players "find another way to protest". Trump showed support for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when Jones said that all Cowboys must stand during the anthem. Much as he did throughout the wave of protests last season, President Donald Trump made it clear he found them to be unacceptable.

Players would be allowed to stay in the locker room during the anthem if they chose - but if any team personnel did kneel on the field, the team would be fined.

On Thursday, Miami Dolphins players Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson and Robert Quinn protested during the anthem, before facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Miami at a preseason game, according to ESPN.

In a tweet, Kaepernick lauded Stills and Wilson, two of the Dolphins who protested Thursday night.

Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, who started the protests in 2016, praised Miami Dolphins players Stills and Wilson for kneeling on Thursday to "protest systemic oppression".

Naturally, the president's criticism did not sit well with many players and members of the left-wing sports media. And given the NFL's lack of resolution on a policy, it likely won't be the last.

"Me and my teammates, we felt like President Trump's speech was an assault on our most cherished right, freedom of speech", Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller told U.S. News & World Report.

Several players took a knee, raised fists or did not take to the field while the national anthem was played.

Though President Trump has a valid point regarding National Football League players earning a substantial income, there are many cases that show even six-figure-earning National Football League players of a minority background are sometimes subjected to questionable interactions with police and experience racial inequality.

Seattle Seahawks" Duane Brown, Branden Jackson and Quinton Jefferson went into the locker room during the singing of "The Star Spangled Banner', returning after it ended to re-join their team-mates.

"We remain committed to working with the players to identify solutions and to continue making progress on important social issues affecting our communities".
