Wiltshire Police officer rushed to Salisbury Hospital given all-clear

"This has been identified as the same nerve agent that contaminated both Yulia and Sergei Skripal", Javid told parliament. The Telegraph reported that the woman's name is Dawn Sturgess, and the man is Charlie Rowley.

They first responded to a woman, 44, who had lost consciousness, and later in the day to a man, 45, who began exhibiting odd behavior, a friend who was with him told authorities.

As Mr Rowley and Ms Sturgess remain in comas in hospital, the Kremlin "categorically denied" any Russian involvement in the original Salisbury attack and claimed Britain "showed no interest" in a joint investigation.

Regarding this latest incident, President Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters that Russian Federation has "categorically denied and continues to categorically deny the possibility of any kind of involvement".

"What we are clear on.is that this is the exact same nerve agent from the Novichok family", Home Secretary Sajid Javid said.

Authorities said they were exposed to the substance after handling a contaminated item, however they have not identified what the item was. "This, of course, fully dissonates with what the British authorities and the British media are saying about Russian Federation".

So far, there is no evidence that the British couple visited any of the sites involved in the Skripal case.

They are looking into whether the separate incidents may be linked. Authorities said Thursday they believe two new victims, who were hospitalized in critical condition Saturday, were not directly targeted but sickened as a effect of the previous attack.

One theory understood to be under investigation is whether the pair inadvertently found the container used to transport the nerve agent in the Skripal attack before being discarded.

British Security Minister Ben Wallace spoke to the BBC on Thursday. In a televised statement in the House of Commons, he added that the latest couple is thought to have been exposed to the nerve agent at a location not previously associated with the Skripals incident.

Experts say just a few milligrams of the odourless Novichok liquid - the weight of a snowflake - is enough to kill a person within minutes.

The victim's brother, Matthew Rowley, told ITV News the Salisbury incidents were "outrageous" and said he had not received any information about his brother's condition. The British Home Secretary has demanded that Russian Federation explain how a nerve agent that only its government reportedly had access to has shown up a second time on British soil.

Police in special protective gear and breathing apparatus are conducting an extensive search at the John Baker House in Salisbury, where Ms. Sturgess was living before the poisoning.
