Eurovision Song Contest gets its lineup for Grand Final

A Chinese broadcaster has had its rights to screen the Eurovision song contest revoked after it censored LGBT elements from the first semi-final.

One was Ireland's entrant, Ryan O'Shaughnessy, who sang a song called "Together" about love between two men; his performance featured male backup dancers acting out the story.

After two semi-finals held this week, 20 countries moved to Saturday's final while Britain, Italy, Spain, France and Germany got free passes as they are the biggest contributors to the European Broadcasting Union, which stages Eurovision.

"This really is not in accord with the EBU's values of universality and inclusivity and also our proud heritage of celebrating diversity by songs", an announcement by your EBU stated. It said, it had taken the action after Mango TV cut two acts in the first semifinal, broadcast on Tuesday, as reported by the CNN.

The EBU announced on Friday the termination of its contract with China's MangoTV, preventing it from broadcasting Thursday's second semi-final and Saturday's grand final hosted in Lisbon, Portugal. It also separately blurred tattoos from Albanian singer Eugent Bushpepa.

The 63rd annual Eurovision Song Contest is set to crown this year's winning nation on Saturday (May 12) in Lisbon, Portugal, and if you're itching to see all 26 finalists sing their hearts out as it happens without using a bootleg stream or VPN in the USA, you're in luck.

According to The Irish Times, China have strict rules, citing that 'China prohibit the broadcast of "abnormal sexual relationships and behaviours, such as incest, same-sex relationships, sexual perversion, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual violence, and so on"'.

It became known that the representative of Ukraine MELOVIN will open the Grand final.

'It doesn't matter whether it's between two guys and two girls or a guy and a girl.
